Mounds View is located in the County of Ramsey. It's close to the intersection of US Highway 10 and Interstate 35W. the city is a total of 4.12 mi.². Population is a little over 12,000 people. It became a city in 1958 and grew rapidly. The largest company is Medtronic Inc.
The majority of the homes were built in the 1950s and 60s. It's a quaint small suburb north of downtown Minneapolis. Several of the home buyers looking in Shoreview, Arden Hills, New Brighton and Fridley stumble across this quaint little community.
The majority of the homes located in Mounds View are starter homes that were built after World War II. Mostly 1 1/2 story homes and ramblers. They come in all shapes and sizes along with price ranges. Prices start at around $125,000. It's a very affordable suburb with an easy commute to the Twin Cities.
Being a real estate agent that services Mounds View, I've gotten to know the city over the last several years. Being that it's a smaller community, many of my clients have just fallen into it by accident. They're typically searching Arden Hills, Shoreview and Fridley. I always add Mounds View to the search because I feel like it's a well-kept secret. It's not quite as far as Blaine out of the city and you can jump right on 35W to commute to downtown Minneapolis. The homes are reasonably priced and great for first-time home buyers.
