Maplewood is located in Ramsey County on the east side of St. Paul it's only 10 minutes to downtown and stretches along most of the north and eastern borders of St. Paul. It is home to one of the largest corporations we have in Minneapolis and St. Paul, 3M. It's landmasses a total of 17.99 sq ac.² with an estimated population of a little over 40,000 residents.
Independent school District 622 is one of the largest employers as well as St. John's Hospital, Cub foods and the city of Maplewood. There is a lot of retail services as well and the area in your only moments away from shopping.
My experiences a real estate agent working in Maplewood is that it's another one of those communities that many home buyers tend to forget about. It's very close to Woodbury but much more moderately priced. You can get into a starter home for around $175,000 and it's a great location.
Several of my clients have shared with me that they like how close it is to downtown St. Paul and that you can get headed out of town to Wisconsin very easily. There are many people who own Lake homes in the state of Wisconsin and choose Maplewood because of the amount of drive time they save compared to more of the southern suburbs.
