Brooklyn Center was incorporated in 1911 and became the city in 1954. It has over 522 acres of parks and natural areas. Located in Hennepin County it's just north of Minneapolis by about 10 minutes. Several cities that are nearby include Brooklyn Park Crystal and New Hope.
The first schoolhouse in Brooklyn Center was built in 1859. The school district has expanded there are three school districts that service Brooklyn Center including Anoka Hennepin school district number 11, Osseo school district 279 in Robbinsdale school District 281.
Brooklyn Center has homes of all shapes and sizes. The majority was built in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Some newer construction can still be found but most of the city is completely built out. Prices start under $100,000. Many buyers like Brooklyn Center because of the proximity to downtown Minneapolis and the value for your dollar when purchasing a home
Most homebuyers think Brooklyn Park in Brooklyn Center are interchangeable because of the names but they really aren't. In my experience in selling homes in Brooklyn Center it's a different process than Brooklyn Park. Brooklyn Center is much more to me like Crystal and Robbinsdale. A little bit older 50s and 60s homes, lots of ramblers had the prices are great in the low $200,000 range. It's a great suburb for first-time home buyers to get into their first home.
