The city of Anoka is a ring suburb located on the north side Minneapolis-St. Paul. The two rivers through it are the Rum and Mississippi. Both played little part in the development of the city. My perspective is a real estate agent who works in Anoka is that majority of my clients that are moving in, like the smaller town feel but they like to be closer to their drive up north. Many of them own cabins so it cuts sometimes a 45 minute to an hour drive when they're coming from the south western suburbs. Anoka does have a very quaint downtown area and lots of shopping which is another big draw. But the big thing I hear from most of the buyers aside from just liking the area is the ease to get up north.
