As A Veteran, How Do I Buy A Home?
One of the nicest things about being a veteran is your ability to use that status and get a VA loan through the government. It offers you, 0% down financing and virtually no fees upfront to get into a home.
To take advantage of your status as a veteran and purchase a home there are several different things you need to do to make that happen. The very first thing is getting your certificate of eligibility through the VA. that’s a form that basically states that you are qualified as a veteran to purchase a home through this program.
From that you want to make sure that you hire the right team of professionals to help you. You can’t just hire any real estate agent or loan officer. It is in your best interest to shop around and find professionals that have history working with other veterans and understand the process to help you purchase that home.
The appraisal can always be a concern because it’s been my experience at times that some of the appraisers working for the VA should have retired a very long time ago. If you find yourself in a situation where you have to dispute and appraisal, that’s another reason why you want a team of professionals that can help you walk through that process.
At the end of the day the most important thing is having as much knowledge as you can and experienced people working with you to get you into the home of your dreams.
