Are you overthinking your home search?
Could you be suffering from paralysis due to over analysis? This is something that happens to many homebuyers. Looking for a home can be very much like going into a store to purchase an item. You get there and realize there are so many choices you actually feel overwhelmed. This is something you need to avoid is a homebuyer because it will do you more harm than good in the long run.
Focusing on your goals of what’s most important to you in a home has to stay in front of you at all times. This is not saying that your list doesn’t change as you look at houses, but you need to keep looking back at that list to make sure that you don’t miss a home that could be perfect for you.
One of the things that a buyers agent will do for you through the first consultation is make a list of all the things are most important to you. As things change in priority it’s important that you share that with your agent. They will continue to keep a list so that when they see a perfect home for you, they can pointed out. This may sound silly but there many clients of mine that will simply miss it because they’re focused on the wrong thing. The worst thing you can do is lose out on a wonderful home that would be perfect for you simply because you’re looking into many different directions.
Staying focused is the most important part in looking for a home. It’s very common that your needs or wants will change but you have to come for those changes as you go.
