Bloomington Minnesota is located in Hennepin County and is bounded to Interstate 494 to the north, Highway 169 to the West and the Minnesota River to the south of the East. It's considered an inner ring suburb of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Bloomington is one of the most well-known suburbs in Minnesota. Because of all it has to offer.

Bloomington is home to the Minneapolis-St. Paul international Airport, the Mall of America as well as many large businesses including Best Buy, life touch, Seagate and Donaldson Company just to name a few. Bloomington has over 85,000 residents and over 90,000 jobs. Some of the large industries include entertainment, retail, hotels and restaurants.

The median age of the population as of 2010 census is 42 years. Bloomington has a total of 38 mi.² that encompasses over 24,500 acres. It has over 37,000 homes and the median household income as of 2010 was $59,458 per year.

The utility service providers for Bloomington are, century link for telephone, Xcel energy for electricity, Centerpoint energy for natural gas and the city of Bloomington handles water and sewage collection.

The Bloomington school district is number 271. There are 10 elementary schools-Hillcrest community school, Indian mounds elementary school, Normandale Hills Elementary school, Oak Grove elementary school, Olson elementary school, Poplar Bridge elementary school, Ridgeview Elementary school, Valley view Elementary school, Washburn elementary school and Westwood elementary school. There are three middle schools-Oak Grove middle school, Olson middle school and Valley view middle school. Bloomington has two high schools-Jefferson high school and Kennedy high school.

Bloomington has residential family homes of all shapes, sizes and price points. You can find condominiums, townhomes as well as single-family homes ranging in prices from the low $100,000s to $1 million plus properties.

 Bloomington is one of my favorite suburbs to sell houses in because there is so much interest in the area. So from us listing standpoint it's always easy to get a lot of buyers interested in the home you're selling. The downside for the buyers is because there is so much interest, you have to act fast so you can avoid being in a multiple offer situation. One of the things I've always liked about Bloomington is the variety of houses that are for sale their sections in West Bloomington where you can spend over half $1 million but the majority of the city is in the $250,000 range. That makes it very affordable for the average homeowner. You certainly can't beat all that Bloomington has to offer from the mall of America to all of the other shopping and parks. Typically buyers that are looking in Richfield are also considering Bloomington and in some cases, they also consider Burnsville and should they cross the river?
