Blaine was developed in 1865 and they saw their population jump from 1694 in 19 52/20,000 residents in 1970. As the Minneapolis-St. Paul area continue to expand, so did the highways. Interstate 35 which leads directly to Blaine North of the Twin Cities help to add to the growth. The area started out as mostly farmland and has now become almost all residential.
There are all types of homes available for sale in Blaine. You can find single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. Average prices starting in the low $100,000 range all the way up to the million-dollar homes. In 2013 the estimated population was 62,018 people. Because of the growth Blaine has attracted many new businesses including Aveda and Dayton Rogers manufacturing. It's home to the national sports Center which is an Olympic class training facility. Many of the soccer turn immense along with other state sports tournaments are held at this facility.
Located do North of downtown Minneapolis, Blaine is about 15 minutes from downtown. It's considered a second ring suburb with the majority of its growth happening over the last 25 years. Some of the nearby cities are Coon Rapids, Anoka and Andover.
I've sold many homes in Blaine in one of the biggest draws seems to be that sports complex. There school districts are wonderful and everyone I've sold homes to seems very happy there. Several of them started looking in Coon Rapids but ended up in Blaine because of what the city itself offers. Whenever I'm showing houses on the northern side of town I always include Blaine on the list of possibilities because of the wide variety of choices of homes. Plus it always seems like such an easy commute to just hop on 35 and had south into the cities.
